"And find out what pleases the Lord."
- Ephesians 5:10

I have been having a lot of self-esteem issues lately which I feel like is common among girls today. So, I went out on a limb and made a video blog about it. Even though my major is Communications and I should be good at this kind of thing, my heart was pounding the whole time and I struggle through basically the whole video. But Christ's glory is made stronger in our weakness, right?? I hope so! I know it's long, unorganized, and slow, but please watch it when you have time!

Praying for each person that watches it!

God Bless

Jackie

  1. Jackie, I just want to say that I have so much respect for the courage you show in the LORD by this video. You are honest to admit that you struggle with these very things about which you speak with such conviction. Isn't it funny how we can understand something yet because our faith is weak still struggle with it. It takes a lot of boldness that can come only from God to put yourself out their on the line and I am confident it will pay off. Even for those (like me) who aren't overcome with physical insecurities can watch that and be encouraged by your conviction to confess Jesus in public disregarding the popularity. Jesus promised that whosoever confesses Him before men, He will confess him before his Father which is in Heaven. Remember that Jesus is our only mediator (both Man and God) between us and our Father; it is really nice for the one who represents you before the Father when you pray is pleading your case for you.

One thing I want to add to your thoughts. You kept saying we aren't perfect and we can't be perfect, which is true of ourselves. But we should never (and don't need to) feel like we are aren't good enough nor that something less than perfect is ok. God's justice requires perfection and we have a propitiation. 2Co 5:21 teaches that Christ was made to be sin. A sinless man cannot die -that would be unjust. Yet Jesus committed no sin and died still. He endured the wrath carrying our sin thus taking it far away from us forever. The second part of that verse is that we "might be made" the righteousness of God. "Might be made" was not here used the way we use the word might (as a chance). The greek verb translated is much stronger, i.e. "caused to be". If Christ really bore our sins, then so before God we posess the "perfection" of Jesus Christ. Before the Judge that really matters we ARE perfect and don't forget it. I know I didn't have to explain that to you, but it is still so good for us to remember that when we serve God it is not for the law, but of love; and that when we believe in Christ properly, we can't feel insufficient nor even imperfect.

And I think you meant Eph 5 not Eph 4. Thank you for the video and prayer; I pray for you too. God bless.

  3. Jackie,

I want to say thank you, first of all. I very much enjoyed hearing your thoughts and discussions. I think it would take a lot of courage to say some of the things that you did. I also think you made a lot of good points. Especially with the body talk and the lies people tell each other. You are right, the way we live isn't healthy.
I am Christian as well and I have been coming stronger in my faith every day. Hearing other people, like I heard you in this, helps me learn and helps me feel stronger and closer to God. Thank you for this video.

P.S. I have from Minnesota, so your video has touched more people than just in Arkansas :)
